What does Gigablue do?

Gigablue presents a groundbreaking system for carbon dioxide removal (CDR), maintaining the highest standards in environmental safety, durability, scalability, and precise measurement. Gigablue uses patented substrates to effectively export CO2 to the deep ocean. The carbon captured in the biomass is sequestered as the substrates sink into the deep ocean, storing it for hundreds to thousands of years. The substrates support the controlled capture of additional carbon by fostering phytoplankton activity in nutrient-depleted regions.” To track the substrates and quantify the sequestered carbon, Gigablue utilizes oceanographic models and a comprehensive set of sensors. This also ensures stringent environmental safety. Collaborating with research institutions, the environmental community, and indigenous societies, Gigablue aims to enhance benefits not only for the planet, but also for people.
