What does Nucor Steel Gallatin do?

At Nucor Steel Gallatin, we believe in forging a brighter future and being part of something bigger. As a division of Nucor, a Fortune 100 company, and ranked No. 1 in our industry on the list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, and America’s largest recycler and manufacturer of steel and steel products, we're not your run-of-the-mill steel company. We're a powerhouse of innovation, strength and community focused on sustainability and efficiency. Nucor Steel Gallatin’s Compact Strip Production operations began in 1995. We extended our business into the galvanizing market in 2019 by installing our Pickle Galvanizing Line at our facility on the Ohio River banks in Gallatin, KY. And now, after recent expansions, our sheet mill has the capacity to produce more than 3 million tons of hot band coils annually, which go into making many of the items in our homes, autos, factories and farms. We're proud to be part of the Nucor family and our commitment to sustainability and excellence by recycling more than a million pounds of scrap steel each year. But it's not just about steel for us. It's about people. Our family of more than 700 full-time teammates is a force to be reckoned with — dedicated, talented and passionate about what we do. We give our teammates the safety, freedom and opportunities to band together under a common purpose: to shape the world with our steel, one beam at a time. Beyond our factory walls, we're deeply rooted in the community. We believe in giving back, supporting local initiatives and fostering a culture of growth and opportunity. We're here to make a positive impact within our organization and the world around us through recycling, renewable energy and sustainable steelmaking. Together, let's build a stronger, safer and cleaner future.
