What does Shawish Market do?

Shawish Market is an innovative virtual marketplace dedicated to celebrating and promoting Indigenous artistry across North America. Founded by Amanda Bernard, a proud member of the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation, Shawish Market provides a unique platform for Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs to sell their unique, authentic items without the burden of monthly or transaction fees, ensuring greater economic empowerment. We stand out by ensuring each artist's authenticity, promoting genuine Indigenous crafts and supporting cultural preservation. Our mission extends beyond commerce; it's about uplifting Indigenous communities, preserving rich traditions, and ensuring artists receive fair compensation for their work. Join us in our journey to transform the art market into a more inclusive and equitable space.
