About Turing
Turing is headquartered in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan. Founded in 2021, the company has 2 recorded locations and employs approximately 75 people worldwide.
What does Turing do?
Turing develops and manufactures fully autonomous vehicles. It develops AI-driven, fully autonomous electric vehicles with a focus on Level 5 (no-human) driving. The company leverages a proprietary multimodal generative-AI model called Heron, which processes data from cameras and other inputs to make real-time driving decisions. Turing engineers its system to communicate with other vehicles, enabling convoy-style driving and enhanced safety through high-frequency world-model recalculations. Their manufacturing process uses human-centered assembly, continuous improvement (Kaizen), and 3D-printed components to adapt quickly and support on-demand updates. The firm also offers its autonomous technology—or hardware and software stack—to OEMs, combining sensors, compute hardware, and software with over-the-air update capabilities. Strategic investments from firms like KDDI and NTT DOCOMO Venture support its ambitions to bring fully autonomous, connected mobility systems to market.
