With the recent developments in the world, chemical engineers can also find opportunities in the field of pollution prevention technologies, new drugs, development and the manufacture of artificial organs and limbs etc. Keeping in view the need to provide competent and well-trained professionals for the country’s chemical industries, the Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1996 in UIET, CSJM University. The Department of Chemical Engineering offers a Four-Year academic program leading to a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering. The Department offers compulsory courses on Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Reaction Engineering, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Instrumentation and Process Control, Chemical Technology, Process Equipment Design, Transport Phenomena,etc. A large number of electives like Environmental Pollution and Control, Polymer Engineering, Numerical Methods in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Safety,and Hazard Prevention, Non-conventional Energy Sources,etc., are also offered to get the students familiar with the latest trends in research and the industry in order to strengthen their professional capabilities. The students are also required to undergo a six-week industrial training in chemical or allied industry at the end of the third year to give them a first-hand experience of the industry. The main aim of the Department is to provide a high-quality educational experience that will help in producing competent, creative and imaginative engineers. Efforts are continuously made by the Depar
