What does Urban Hawk do?

Urban Hawk Ltd, headquartered in Bristol, UK, is a pioneering R&D-focused entity dedicated to advancing spatial computing innovations up to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6. As a grant-supported industrial research powerhouse, we specialize in real-time situational awareness technologies, developing prototype digital twins, simulations, and predictive models in relevant environments to enhance security, safety, automation, robotics, risk assessment, insurance, and operational management. Leveraging the Polaron World Engine, we digitize real-world spatial data—from aerial and ground scans—into interactive, finite datasets ready for simulation and analysis. This enables early-stage R&D in creating virtual replicas of complex systems, allowing for scenario modeling, cause-effect predictions, and risk mitigation in controlled settings. Our focus on TRL 1-6 ensures robust proof-of-concept prototypes, such as factory floor simulations for robotics integration, safety protocols in high-risk environments, or automation workflows that reduce operational downtime and waste. Our staged R&D approach emphasizes low-risk prototyping, starting with data hybridization and machine intelligence for human-machine collaboration. We prioritize grant-funded pathways through partnerships, making cutting-edge spatial tech accessible for industrial research without commercial pressures. Building on our earlier partnership in the Sea Traffic Management Validation Project, we have successfully delivered on a Horizon 2020 project (5G-VICTORI) and are currently undertaking two UKRI-funded UK National Resilience projects. Early validations include wargaming for security scenarios, predictive analytics for insurance risk profiling, and resilient models for operational resilience—delivering comprehensive, comprehensible, and defendable insights. Backed by the UK Space Agency (UKSA) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and led by CEO Robert Sugar (a trusted UKSA/UKRI consultant in 3D visualization and data science) and CTO John Tapsfield, Urban Hawk serves as the foundational research arm for commercial spin-offs. We extend our tech to urban-industrial hybrids, fueling sustainable innovations in situational awareness. Contact us for collaborative R&D opportunities and prototype your future today.
